Concept: Cover Design

After looking at my style models and disecting the cover in the previous post, I have started to draw up a plan for my cover layout. Although it is not set in stone, this is how it could look if everything goes to plan:
If I go ahead with having a simple acoustic-style image, then I will need plenty of content to smootly occupy the remaining space. I have included a great variety on the cover:
  • The artists name will be the largest body of text on the cover (besides the masthead), as this is the main feature of the issue.
  • Teasers function as highlights, and by including those that will appeal to the widest possible demographic possible, more consumers will be inclined to give this new magazine a read.
  • Competitions with extravagent prizes often encourage buyers. Only one prize is given, but loads of people will buy the magazine and enter to win the prize.
