Questionnaire Results Part 1: Audience

I have collected 38 responses to the questionnaire I created, and have compiled them into these pie charts to display the results visually. The benefit of displaying them in this format is that you can see how each option compares with the others.

This first part of the feedback is looking at the audience who responded. I wanted to see what they are like and how they access media products today.
With a near-perfect ratio of males to females, the results can be considered valid as the results can not be distorted by one genders subjective opinions. It also allows me to fairly assess what pleases the most people, and also to see what both genders want from a magazine.
My prospective target audience of 16-25 year old's are addressed in the questionnaire. They make up a heavy majority of the findings (79%) which will allow me to create a magazine with reader-orientated content. By taking into consideration the opinions of those outside the target boundaries, I am ensuring that I will create a widely-appealing publication.
The above pie-chart shows that CDs are fast becoming redundant, as downloads are now clearly the way forwards. What we can see is that people are consuming music much more through digital resources. Music channels such as MTV are still popular, and the number of people listening to music through streaming software, such as YouTube or Spotify, is increasing immensely.
A huge percentage of those questioned (9 out of 10 people) have shown to own technology that revolves around music. MP3 players are the now the most popular way of consuming music on the go. I aim to give my magazine a more technological, contemporary style to target the iPod generation.

This once again reaffirms that my magazine must be modern and fresh. A staggering 97% of those questioned have an on-line profile, on platforms such as Facebook or Twitter. My magazine will require online interactive elements if it is to remain on par with established publications. Facebook would be a great resource to target readers.
