I started to do some research on existing radio shows on the internet by going to the online websites where I could listen to both live and recorded clips of the news shows.
show I researched was the BBC on http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio which has several different radio channels and shows. For my main project I had to create a news show of a 5 minute duration therefore I went to the BBC 4 news channel where I listened to a 10 minute news clip. The clip mainly focused on national news and news only and also included news about the premier league and rugby league. It also included 7 reports that were recorded at different times or outside of the studio and 4 interviews that was recorded outside of the studio. By listening to this show it made me think about what audience I wanted to aim my news show at as the clip contained mainly grownup issues. The clip can be heard on this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/bOOg3j4x The clip did not contain any music or jingle and the news was non stop for the whole 10 minutes.
I also did some research on FOX news talk on http://www.foxnews.com/radio, on this website I listened to the live show and it mainly broadcasted the main American news. I liked this particular radio show as it consists of several interviews and also live interviews. It covered a variety of news from sports to Barack Obama's speeches on taxes. The clip also contained jingles and never really bored me.
