By listening to a 10 minute clip from BBC4 radio broadcasting nationwide news, it made me realise that i wanted to do a local news radio show. The clip was mostly talking with no music or jingles which I thought made the clip boring and was unappealing for some age categories. I wanted to create a radio show which included news and music for most age groups.
After I had done some research on news radio shows I started to look for an appropriate jingle to start my show off what needed to last for 6 to 10 seconds. I also needed to look for some copyright free songs to play in my show. Some songs with a pop style and other songs appropriate for a childrens age. I got some of my music and jingles of this website http://www.freeplaymusic.com/. On this website I downloaded lots of music with different styles.
After I found a some music and jingles I started to think about my radio script and some of the stories and news that I could include in my show. I kept in mind that I was aiming my show at a wide audience that appeals to most age groups and also that it was a local news radio show. My script needed to be precise although I would not be following it word for word.
