Evaluation

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My product uses the usual conventions of a music magazine for reasons for example; it has the typical layout with a main model on the cover to attract the audience along with smaller images to show you what’s inside. I used Sans-serif fonts because this is typical of a music magazine from the music genre I picked (indie/rock) and also kept a limited amount of fonts to make it look neat and professional as I noticed that the typical magazine will not use more than two to three fonts on a page. For my colour scheme I chose a limited amount of colours because most real magazines don’t have a wide range of colours. My double page spread uses the conventions on a real magazine as it has a large main image covering one of the pages followed by an interview on the person in the photograph. Although in most magazines its unlikely to have the text heading crossing the pages i decided to choose to do this because as ive shown in my research it can work well on some occasions. I think that my contents page follows a typical style as most magazines from this genre, with a large main photo to grab attention along with the text in a simple list at the side of it.
