Final Magazine Cover

Changes I have made:
1. As I have previously stated In my blog for my first draft. I really wanted to change my main background image of New York to a picture that was striking in it's own right. It was important to me that the background image didn't blend in behind my models, I wanted it to stand out. Therefore I have chosen a image that is very close up to the buildings of New York. ALso the angle I have shot the picture at is tilted downwards and therefore makes the buildings look slightly 3d and adds a cartoon effect. Which is exactly the effect I wanted to create as I wanted the background to also fit in with my Sin City theme. The picture has turned out so much better than I thought it would. For instance in the first image I used I did use the Highlighting/Shadow tool however it didnt really have anything to reflect off of because the detail was so small. However looking at my image now, the light actually reflects beautifully of the glass in the building.

2. The next thing I changed was my style of font for my Band "Your Girlfriends Nightmare" As I have said previously in my draft blog I wanted to use their signature font as I thought it would make the magazine more appealing to people who where their fans. However I also said I wanted to change the font colour I had used. This is mainly because I thought the heading was drawing to much attention away from the main heading. So after trying several different dark, light, peach pinks I finally decided on the colour shown above. As I think it contrasts really well with the bright white of the rest of the text surrounding it and my models skin colour.

3. I also changed and replaced my Sin City heading as I wanted my audience to recognise that the musical was linked to the film created in (2004) Sin City. Also I wanted my audience to realise that my double page spread was based around the girl bands transition from mtv to Broadway, therefore I have moved the sin city so that is right underneath the YGN title. I have also added a small pun which will link the two.

4. I have added lot's more heading as I thought my first draft looked quite bare. However I have kept the black and grey colour scheme I had originally as I think it ties in brilliantly with my sinister, Sin City theme. I have placed them underneath each other as I think that makes the page look better.

5. I have also moved my "Win Legally Blonde" heading to next to Jess as I think it filled the space well and the colour of the text complicated Jess's pink clothing really well.

6. I have also moved my Bar code. I didnt want to put one on my magazine originally as I was afraid it wouldn't look right, however now that I have moved it to the bottom of the page I think it actually looks really effective. Also it now means my magazine is following all typical magazine conventions. Whats really great though is that the space that is now left where the bar code use to be, shows a fantastic close up view of the New York buildings.

7. Finally I made the shape with the Lady GaGa content in it, Bigger as I wanted it to stand out and not be overwhelmed by the pictures of my models.

So thats the front page done. Now I need to research typical conventions on contents pages.
