I have finally finished my first draft and I am quite pleased with it. This is what my first draft looks like:
Positive:
1. I think the font I have chosen for my title is very effective and succeeds in drawing the eye towards my front cover.
2. The main image is perfect and completely fits my vision of a Sin city, sinister front cover. I think the contrast between both Emily and Jessica creates a very striking image and like my title makes my magazine cover eye catching.
3. I think the rain looks really good and quite professionally done, as it isn't completely covering my models it's just subtle enough to make an effect without taking over the image itself.

4. I think my circular shape makes the page look fuller without over crowding it too much. Also the grey I have used contrasts perfectly with the pale skin of my models.
Things to Improve:
1. I love my idea of using new york in the background because I honestly think it will just add to the striking image my front cover already creates. Also I think with the right picture I could succeed in creating a cartoon/3d effect. However the image I have at the moment isn't strong enough. It is too detailed and in actual facts gets completely lost and overtaken by my models. Therefore I have decided that I needed an image that is closer up to the New York buildings that gives lots of detail. I also think that although I have already used the Highlight/Shadow tool to make my picture brighter, It needs to be brighter, therefore I will increase the Vibrancy as well as the brightness and hopefully that will make my new york background stand out more.
2. I do think that the colour scheme I have used is striking however I do think that perhaps there is too much red on my page. Especially for my "Your Girlfriends Nightmare" title. Looking at my magazine I find that, that title is nearly as striking as my magazine title. Therefore I have decided to change the colour of my band title to a peachy pink colour, I am also going to change the font I have originally used as I think using their signature font will make the title more effective.
3. I think the Sin city heading is too boring and doesn't stand out at all. Also because of the font I have used it is impossible to link Sin City the movie with Sin City the musical. Therefore I have4 decided to use the original Sin City font. Also because my main article is about my bands transition into the Broadway lifestyle I want to make sure that link is established. Therefore I am going to use a pun something like, "Your girlfriends nightmare, Living the dream in..." and then I will have the sin city title at the bottom of the page.
4. I do think my use of black and grey for the title works really well, however looking at my magazine it looks rather bare, so I am going to add a lot more titles sicking with the colour scheme of grey and black.
5. Finally I really like the font I have used for winning Legally Blonde tickets, however I just don't think I have placed it in the right place. Therefore once I have added more titles I am going to move it around a lot until I find the place I think it looks best in.
