Contents Page Components

I have looked at a contents page for Q Magazine, and have analysed the conventions and components of it. There are specific thing which must be incorporated and other things which are optional but work very well.

Here's what I looked at:

Displaying the logo helps to maintain the house style. It links everything together. By showing all the important feature articles, the reader is excited about the pages to come. It is still visually active with two images of musicians, different to the cover, which suggests that this is a varied magazine. Having the reviews listed seperately indicates that this an additional purpose of Q.

The layout is quite rectangular, with the content listings occupying 1/3 of the vertical space. The other 2/3 are visual (which is something my questionnaire revealed as desirable), with photos and a few more page references to the reviews.
