We decided the victim was to be fairly stereotypical of the scary film genre;
a young, vulnerable girl. We debated over having a boy as the victim, but we eventually decided that to abide by the stereotype makes the story more believable.
The pursuer, our "bad guy" was to be male, and, as it is meant to be a phycologically scary film the character would hopefully have a sinister/sociopath edge. We decided age was irrelevant as so long as they weren't too young!
We looked long and hard but eventually we narrowed down our search to these four girls:
Lucie
Nill
Carla
And these three boys:
Upile
Eventually we decided to cast Lucie as our girl because she was the smallest and therfore the most vunerable looking. She conforms to the stereotype in being a female cast as the victim, but, simultaneously, her unconventional, new-age girl look makes it feel more contemporary. She also had the most acting experience (she does AS drama).
For our male character we chose Charlie, as we felt he had the most sinister glare! It isn't obvious straight away that he could be a villain as he isn't physically large, therefore the idea of it being a "psychological thriller" comes into play as it suggests it is his inner thoughts (and not his physical presence) that make him scary!
