Concept: Contents Design

After looking at some case studies (including the one labelled on the previous post), I have come up with this flatplan design for my contents page. Things could change when my photos are taken but I think this should be an accurate representation of what I'll end up with.

Here it is:
Here are some notes on my ideas:
  • The big main image will be linked to the cover image. This will emphasise that this is the biggest and most noteworthy feature of the issue.
  • I will seperate the regular features from the one-off features to give both sections their own definition. The reviews will also be serperated as this a key component of a music magazine.
  • The purble-box image will be linked to the reviewed artists, and the blue-boxed image will be relevant to a musician featured in one of the regular features.
  • The quote will be taken from the double-paged spread that I will create - as this will link both sections. I will put a page reference next to the quote and each picture to signpost the reader to the relevant text.
