I have looked at a back-issue of KERRANG magazine to get a feel for what a double paged spread should be like. Around it, I have labelled the parts of the spread that I feel are conventional to the spread, and are things which I should adhere to in what I create.
Here it is:
Displaying the NEWS icon in the top-right corner, the reader is made aware of what section they're reading. Also, having a quote as a main title is a personal approach because the band is saying it themselves. The pictures are dynamic and have a edgy feel due to their monochrome appearance. The spread sticks to three functional colours - Black, White and Red.
The two pages are quite seperate, but are linked by the expansive title which spans both pages. There is far more visual imagery that written text, which indicates (like my research) that readers would rather have a larger proportion of photographs to interpret. The text is in collumns which makes the reading experience less tiresome, and this something I will definitly include in my double page spread.
