Editing: Double Page

Now that I have chosen the images I am going to use on my double page, I need to edit them so that the first one reflects my theme of Sin city. However for the second image as it isn't supposed to follow a particular theme I am just going to make both of my models more vibrant.

This is the original image of Emily and Jess sat down before I edited it:

This is the edited version:

The first thing I did was delete the background behind my models as I knew it would be easier to drop in my New York image if the background was transparent. Howver because I had deleted the background it looked like the girls where floating in the air. So I filled in the space the girls are sat on with black then I used a a filter tool called Reticulation and that the floor a gravel like effect. I decided to use this effect as the image I has taken had a stone floor in the background.

Next I began working on my background image.

This is the original image I took:

The first thing I wanted to do was zoom in on my image and crop some of the picture so that I has a much closer image of the empire state building and the other New York buildings. I also wanted this background image to take the same approach as my front cover and follow my theme of Sin City therefore, I turned this image into a balck and white photo. Next I used the a tool on Adobe Photoshop called the burn tool, I made sure that I only darkened the darker shades of the pictures as I didnt want my image to be too dark. However once I had finished burning my picture it was too dark so I used the vibrance tool and used the brightness tool to make the picture much brighter. Also I added on a granite ledge so that my models didn't look like they were floating in the air.

This is my final picture:

I am now going to add rain using the same technique I used on my front cover. Then I am going to place my models into the picture and highten the vibrance.

This is the very final image:
