Initial plot line ideas (working title LETS BE FRIENDS)

After lots of group discussion, and after our initial research, we have devised a very loose plot line idea. As the brief says, our project is only the first two minutes of a film. Because of this, we decided that our story would get straight to the point and therefore have the narrative's 'complicating action' within our first two minutes.

We decided our film will begin with a girl walking alone. She then will be kidnapped by a man. The sequence will then continue to show us where the man has taken the girl, and tied her up.

In keeping with the idea of a "psychological thriller/horror" we decided that the premise of him taking her is that, in childhood, the man was a neglected boy. His parents did not let him interact with other children. If we were to make the whole film, we would have shown these events in a series of flashbacks throughout the film.

His emotionally scarring childhood leads his to being mentally disturbed in later life. He therefore kidnaps people, usually women, under the pretence that they are his new "friends" and he will use them like "toys" and "play" with them.

In our two minute project we will show from when she is walking to the point where she is tied up and the last shot will allude to the fact he is going to "play" with her in some violent way.

From this initial plotline, we have given out project the working title of 'Let's Be Friends'
